Key West Whiskey Review

A Cayo Hueso perspective on all things Single Malt.

Should you have the urge to stay atop of my rantings, take a moment
and grab the RSS feed to stay updated. See you around!

After moving to Key West, I realized that scotch is in short supply as this is rum country. Finding a fellow scotch drinker is a rarity and finding a good scotch bar or scotch friendly liquor store can be all but impossible. I decided I represent a demographic not represented on the web: the tropical island scotch drinker.

Someone needed to represent the strange beastie that is the tropical island scotch drinker. A creature (to quote Hunter S. Thompson) “One of God’s own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

While that may be a touch on the dramatic, the fundamental point is there.  The tropics are strange place for the Scotch lover. It is my goal to bring that tropical perspective to a beverage overlooked at this latitude. It is also my goal to point out establishments in Key West that can help a weary traveler get their Scotch Fix.
